Cycle responders
It's great to know we're helping the local community. This is a
really great way to volunteer; I'd recommend it to anyone!

Cycle responder
Cycle responders cover public events from
local sports and park occasions through to marches and
demonstrations, responding to any situations requiring first
aid.
Using bicycles allows our volunteers to reach people needing
medical assistance more effectively.
What does it involve?
Commitment
You can give as little or as much time as you wish, give a few
spare hours here or there, or commit to a couple of hours each
week.
Role
Using your first aid skills to treat people with injuries. You
can state an interest in joining cycle responders after completing
your first aid training. We can then provide cycling training and
you can become a member of a cycling unit.
As a cycle responder, you could help in the following ways:
- Assessing a patient
- Dealing with unconscious patients
- Dealing with injuries and bleeding.
Training
All our cyclists are trained in first aid and to National
Standard Level three. This is the highest government cycling
standard.
