First aid kits
Under the Heath & Safety (First aid)
regulations it is the duty of every employer to provide at least
one first aid container for each work site.
Choosing the right first aid kit
The employer, through
risk assessment of the workplace, must determine
the number, content and location of a first aid kit. The Approved
Code of Practice provides a guide to the minimum stock of
the first aid items required in the workplace (where no special
risk arises).
The basic first aid kits can
be supplemented with a range of products for special environments
and risks.
St John Ambulance recommends
eye
wash, burns
treatment, resuscitation
masks, and cold
packs as possible additions.
