Emergency aid for appointed persons
(schools)
This course is ideal for schools where a nominated person is
required to take charge in the event of illness or accident.
Who should attend?
A person nominated to provide support to qualified first aiders
in a school.
What they will learn?
Basic life saving first aid and the relevant regulations.
Course content
- Communication and delegation in an emergency
- Contents of a first aid box
- Control of bleeding
- Resuscitation - as appropriate for age group.
- Incident management
- Responsibility of employers and employees for health and
safety
- Specific hazards in a school
- Treatment of unconscious casualty.
Course duration
Six hours.
Assessment and certification
Continuous assessment by trainer and a St John Ambulance
certificate, valid for three years, is issued on successful
completion of assessment.
