First aid courses for the workplace

Become a first aider and you'll make a real difference to the
well-being of your colleagues.
First aid provision in the workplace saves lives. It can prevent
minor problems or injuries from becoming major ones. It can help
employers reduce costs from injury. And it is a legal obligation on every single employer to
make sure that their employees receive the right first aid care in
the workplace.
In October 2009 the requirements for first aid
in the workplace will change. We're committed to keeping you
up-to-date on all the changes and we've prepared a set of questions and answers to help you understand
what is changing, why it is changing and how it will affect
you.
Qualified first aider
As a qualified first aider you'll have the
essential skills to handle any first aid situation, from minor
slips and trips to the most serious of incidents.
Appointed person
If you're an appointed person our Emergency aid
courses will show you how to deal with both life-threatening
emergencies and common workplace injuries. We also have a version
of the course specifically tailored for those who work in
schools.
People who work with young children
Our Early years first aid course is
for people who work with children up to the age of eight. It meets
the Ofsted requirements for registered Childminders and the
requirements for nannies under the DfES Approved Carers Scheme.
Defibrillator training
In the UK, one person suffers a heart attack every two minutes
but the majority could be saved if their heart was shocked back
into rhythm. Our Defibrillator training
course will teach you how to use a automated external
defibrillator.
