Total first aid

This comprehensive course can be completed in addition to the Activity first aid course. It provides you with the opportunity to learn all first aid protocols for people of all ages in a wide range of emergency situations.

This course is for members of the public who want an in-depth knowledge of first aid techniques.

What you will learn?

How to deal with minor and major emergency situations.

Course content

In addition to the skills learnt on the Activity first aid course you will also learn:

  • Treatment of abdominal pain, major and minor seizures.
  • Treatment of minor and major bleeding, eye injuries and severe, allergic reactions.
  • How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Course duration

28 hours for the total course (this includes 16 hours for the Activity first aid course).

Assessment and certification

Continuous assessment by trainer and a St John Ambulance certificate, valid for three years, is issued on successful completion of the course.
