Oblations

Members of the Order of St John are expected to pay annual oblations in each year of their membership. The level of the oblation is voluntary. The table below suggests the amounts which confrères in each grade might consider paying; these figures are adjusted from time to time by Chapter General.

Serving Brothers and Sisters

Serving Brothers and Sisters are not under any obligation to pay oblations. However, payments of £20.00 per year by those who feel able to do so would greatly assist the work of the Priory. If as a Serving Brother or Sister you do not wish to continue your payments, please let us know.

Gift Aid

We prefer that oblations are made under the Gift Aid scheme - which allows the Priory to reclaim tax paid by UK taxpayers - and paid by banker's order, which involves the least administrative cost. Gift Aid replaced covenants from 6 April 2000.

Commuted Oblations

You can commute your oblations by making a lifetime subscription. If you would like to know more about this method of payment, please refer to the contact details below.
