Our first aid
services department can
advise on the
exact requirements to cover your event safely. We
have over 300 adult volunteers we provide
cover for
events small and large. In Northumbria during 2009 we
provided cover at over 800 public events.
First aiders
All of our first aiders are trained to the
Health and Safety Executive First aid at work standard as a
minimum, with many acquiring additional skills.
All of our first aiders are tested on their skills every
twelve months and receive additional training
throughout the year.
Ambulances
Northumbria has a fleet of modern ambulances,
all equipped to national standards.
All our ambulance personnel are trained to the national St
John Ambulance patient
or emergency transport attendant
standards. Our Ambulance crews also support the North
East Ambulance Service at peak times.
Our role in emergencies
St John Ambulance works together with the statutory services,
local authorities, and partner organisations in preparing for and
responding to emergencies.
