Important notice: The Heritage Lottery Fund has earmarked a grant of £1.53m for the museum, to help with our exciting redevelopment plans. Over the next year our small team of staff will be extremely busy with project work. When contacting the museum with family history enquiries, we would be very grateful if you could write to us at the address below rather than send an email. The museum receives a great many enquiries and aims to answer within four weeks of receiving the letter. A donation of £10 is requested for family history and medal enquiries. 

We are a charity, donations are very welcome to help cover the costs of postage and staff time. 

For St John Ambulance family history enquiries, give as much information as possible, particularly where the relative lived and any dates including birth and death.

For the identification service, please send a photograph or photocopy of the object concerned for an opinion by a member of staff. Valuations are not given.
