The Museum is now closed for redevelopment until summer 2010.

The Museum has been awarded a grant of £1.53 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund, in order to create spaces to display and interpret more of the Museum’s treasures.

Key features of the project include entering the Museum directly through the ancient Gate and revealing some original architectural features of the building. We will renew and redisplay the current Order and St John Ambulance galleries, and create a new double-height Link Gallery with an interactive timeline and key objects beautifully displayed.

The Museum still needs to raise in excess of £1 million to complement the HLF grant, and to enhance the Museum and its collections generally. Please contact the Museum should you wish to make a donation.
