Challenger ambulance in flooded village

St John Ambulance is assisting during the flash floods that have hit the Avon area.

Motorway gridlock

Heavy rain has meant that the M4 and M5 motorways have become gridlocked which has had a knock-on effect on the traffic trying to leave Bristol.

The local ambulance service is having extreme difficulty getting through and St John Ambulance has supplied five ambulances, including 4x4s, with 10 volunteers to help alleviate the situation.

 

Our volunteers are fully trained and equipped and they'll do all they can to make sure people in Avon stay safe and sound.
